Reuters: Post-meltdowm, funds seek reassuring ad tone

According to a Reuters article today:
Fund companies want you to forget about the massive hole the financial crisis blasted in the middle of your portfolio.

Spending on advertising is up this year as asset managers like Fidelity Investments, Franklin Resources Inc (BEN.N) and Janus Capital Group (JNS.N) try to lure back investors.


But after the financial upheavals of recent years, some companies have transformed their pitches. Whereas the industry once touted hot funds and star managers, several campaigns now under way aim at reassurance and focus on the longer term.
