A Franklin Templeton compliance executive told a room full of attendees at NICSA today star portfolio manager, Dr. Mark Mobius' blog, Investment Adventures in Emerging Markets, has had more than 50,000 visitors since its inception a little more than three months ago.
Rick Garner, Vice President of Franklin Templeton Investor Services, LLC, said that in addition to the blog entries Dr. Mobius writes, he responds to blog inquiries.
Garner said that clients and global advisors had sought information from world-renowned Mobius concerning his opinion on the markets.Garner said giving market information is allowed by compliance guidelines.
Garner also said that in-between blogs, Mobius is writing hundreds of tweets, noting that the Mobius Twitter channel is one of about 100 advisor channels that will be established by Twitter.
