End to the Reign on Style Boxes?

Propinquity Investors’ Think Tank blog usually proves an interesting read, and this article particularly caught my eye earlier this month.  After twenty-five years of dependence upon style boxes to define asset allocation, managers are seeing more and more freedom to think outside the box, relying on ETFs instead. This shift has been taking hold slowly since 2008 and has brought with it a new definition of asset managers as well as their roles within the industry. Breaking away from the style box has allowed intermediaries to break into the management game. I highly recommend taking a look at the Think Tank article on this topic—it features analysis and recommendations for managers looking to shift with the industry. Read the full article.
